Sorry it's been so long....been real busy.
Right now we are sitting 11 games up and looking real good on a tough road trip. Schilling will miss one more start but the way his have been going thats not necessarily a bad thing.
Plenty more to come as I will be at Fenway two days in the next week and much more going on.
Tavarez says his hamstring is fine and no one should be worried, so stay tuned to that. Also trade rumors are floating around about the Red Sox picking up Buehrle. Not a good call in my opinion but if it's as a fourth or fifth starter than it wont be too bad.
10:05 tonight.......DICE-K!!!!!

Red Sox 11 Yankees 6
Season Series 7 - 4..... with seven games left....looks very good for us
June 1st, Ninth inning, Fenway Park: Scott Proctor throws a high pitch near the chin of Youkilis. Both benches clear, no punches thrown. Proctor ejected from the game, talks to every reporter he can to apologize, looks as scared as me in a haunted house one year (yeah I am scared of the dark, I know kinda wussy.) Fires a dead Sox team up....they score two in the inning. Still a loss but a sign of life.
This is how we enter this game. Emotions high, fans on the edge of their seat and a Sox team that was recently awakened. This is going to be good.
Tied 1 - 1 after the second. Red Sox load the bases with no outs. Varitek grounds into a sure double play, Robinson Cano fields the ball and instead of throwing to second decides to tag Lowell coming from first. Bad choice. Lowell lays him out and somehow Cano still pulls of the throw to first(this is all legal by the way, Cano was in the base path, besides nothing beats A-rod's dirty play this year. I wonder if Lowell yelled "mine" when he hit Cano. Cano calls it dirty after the game leading to my new favorite post game comment. When asked about the play Lowell responds "They taught me how to do it."Priceless.) This sends a message that the Sox were there to play. No retaliation, unfortunately cuz every time we brawl with them we go on a tear but I guess we can't get much better this year, but this is most likely due to the Rain Delay in the fourth.
Back on the field 3 - 1 Sox and Schilling, who looked unhittable early, now looks like me pitching( I once hit 73 on a radar gun, thought my arm broke off, but still impressive for my size.) Four run inning for the Yanks and they lead 5 to 3 (At this point I am "trying" to eat at work, I say this because I was unable to keep food down, yeah I have a problem I know.)
THANK GOD FOR MIKE LOWELL. Goes deep into the monster and Varitek homers behind him. Tie ball game. I would like to know if other people think that this combo has been just as dangerous and Papi and Manny this year. I truly believe so.
Jeter hits a solo shot off Joel Piniero to give them the lead back. Cut to the obvious FOX scene of Jeter explaining how far it went. Someone needs to tell FOX that these guys are 12.5 back, seriously.
Jeter makes up for it with two errors in the 7th which lead to five runs. If you haven't seen the video, he leaves Mientkewicz out to dry and a charging Lowell runs into him (truly an accident, Jeter should be paying his hospital bill because this throw was terrible.) Sox take the lead and the game is essentially over.
A couple notes:
Okajima gets his first win in the Majors. This guy has been our best Japanese pitcher. He should get Dice-k's 51 million.
Youkilis' hitting streak is over at 23 games. Very impressive. He takes the walk in the late innings to help the team instead of swinging at bad pitches to extend the streak. This is truly a remarkable team.
Yankee's announce Roger Clemens will miss his first start with a minor groin injury. Luckily he has $28 million to go to the doctor and get it fixed. This announcement was met with the Fenway crowd chanting "Where is Roger?" How do I always miss these things. Oh yeah my "other" life.
Luckily tonight I will be out in time for the game. I will be attempting to post a running diary of me watching the game from home. So check back later tonight for that.
8:05 start. "The Unbeaten" Josh Beckett (8-0) against "Where's my run support? And by the way where is Roger?" Andy Pettite (3-4). Oh no, I think I jinxed Beckett.....damn it. Oh well at least I didn't say "The Unbeatable." Now I've done it.
Where I want to be

Sorry it's been so long....
So I decided I need to quit working.......It's 8 in the morning and I am realizing that my job takes away from my Baseball Life (yes this is separate from my real life, I am convinced by this, maybe that's a post for another day). Example: Drop J-Bone (Nick Jabar if you are wondering) off at Logan airport. Twenty minutes away from Fenway, 6:45 in the morning. Easily first in line for game day tickets..... trying to find excuses to call in sick. I run through the normal ones (puking, mom sick, cat died, major earthquake that only affected me) but I think I have used them all up. Forced to drive home and wait to go to work, I could have had tickets, I even had my psp to keep me entertained. Pissed.
Anyway, missed two games on here. Wednesday's loss to Cleveland and Friday's loss to the Yankees. The Cleveland game was predictable (they were too good for us to sweep). I left this game with one question, "Is Dice-K still sick?". He started very solid and then imploded on himself. We have seen this before but not in his recent starts. Combine that with him mysteriously getting an extra days rest and Tavarez pitching against Dan Haren from Oakland on Monday. By the way Haren leads the league in ERA with a 1.64 and has 61 strikeouts in 82 innings. Tavarez gets screwed (Halliday, Halliday, Santana, Wang and now Haren.....wow).
Now the Yankee Game. Wakefield throws beach balls to the Yankees. Let's face it he is not effective against them. Someone needs to tell Francona this cuz he does not get it. One big 6 run inning and we are done. Fortunately Youk provided some entertainment in the 9th by almost starting a brawl. Then Manny misses a home run by three inches and we get the momentum we need for the next game. Tough loss but it made this series interesting again.
Scary Moment: Mike Lowell getting hit in the wrist and being pulled out of the game. Ends up being fine and shows how important he is and why it was so scary. But that's the next post.
Not scary moment: Drew strains his hamstring. Nothing bad but I just can't like this guy, so very indifferent to this. He can not hit in the American League (.222 avg, 35 hits, 31 strike outs and only 17 RBI's behind Papi and Manny.... one word terrible.) Compared to Lowell this guy is a bum (.337, 64 hits, 15 strikeouts and 45 RBI's.... no wonder he comes out to "Ironman".)
Long enough. I will post about last night's game before I go to work.

Beckett gets the win.... Varitek shows some pop
7 innings pitched 3 hits and 2 runs......
Not a bad night..... especially because those two runs should have been charged to J.D. Drew.
Okajima gets the save..... where is Pap in that situation.... He was available, the Yankees were losing.... Isn't that what we have him for. Overall very happy to have Beckett back, especially with that nasty curveball.
Varitek goes deep well over the monster. He always hits better from the right side. Youkilis at 21 games in this hit streak and he adds his 8th homerun tying him with Manny. Youk better be an all star selection even though he will be as a reserve because Big Papi deserve's to start.
Pedroia is growing on me and I hate to say that. I would like to thank everyone for reminding me that he is hitting better than Lugo and Coco by almost seventy points. Guess he does deserve that spot.... maybe Cora could play short.
Overall a great game. Byrd vs. Dice-K tomorrow so hopefully more of the same even though Byrd has looked great all year.
Please tell me Ortiz is in the lineup.... please god??? Please????
Trot did not get a hit tonight which is ok with me. Love ya but we have to win a division.
Yankees are 14.5 games back and I am sleeping well.

Beckett Back and two questions before the game
So its 4:45 pm. Officially 2 hours and 20 minutes before game time and Josh Beckett throwing his first pitch. Can't help but be excited. Though every Red Sox fan knows with excitement comes nervousness.
Coming into the game Beckett is 7-0 with a 2.66 era. This is good enough to consider him the best pitcher in baseball right now. The Indians are starting Sowers who is about two walks away from being the minors. Things look good for us.
Two questions before the game:
1. Where is Ortiz and how badly are his hamstrings hurt?
(Only the Red Sox know and they aren't saying anything. And has anyone noticed that Manny has not taken a day off all year..... that is very impressive.)
2. Will Red Sox fans cheer for Trot Nixon if he gets a hit off Beckett like they did when he faced Schilling?
(Which by the way was almost enough to ruin my experience at Fenway last night. I know he's Trot but we should never cheer against our starting pitcher, especially when he was on pace for 10 strikeouts. Thank god Youk hit the inside the park and saved my night.)
By the way this is me before the game:
