Sorry it's been so long....

So I decided I need to quit working.......It's 8 in the morning and I am realizing that my job takes away from my Baseball Life (yes this is separate from my real life, I am convinced by this, maybe that's a post for another day). Example: Drop J-Bone (Nick Jabar if you are wondering) off at Logan airport. Twenty minutes away from Fenway, 6:45 in the morning. Easily first in line for game day tickets..... trying to find excuses to call in sick. I run through the normal ones (puking, mom sick, cat died, major earthquake that only affected me) but I think I have used them all up. Forced to drive home and wait to go to work, I could have had tickets, I even had my psp to keep me entertained. Pissed.
Anyway, missed two games on here. Wednesday's loss to Cleveland and Friday's loss to the Yankees. The Cleveland game was predictable (they were too good for us to sweep). I left this game with one question, "Is Dice-K still sick?". He started very solid and then imploded on himself. We have seen this before but not in his recent starts. Combine that with him mysteriously getting an extra days rest and Tavarez pitching against Dan Haren from Oakland on Monday. By the way Haren leads the league in ERA with a 1.64 and has 61 strikeouts in 82 innings. Tavarez gets screwed (Halliday, Halliday, Santana, Wang and now Haren.....wow).
Now the Yankee Game. Wakefield throws beach balls to the Yankees. Let's face it he is not effective against them. Someone needs to tell Francona this cuz he does not get it. One big 6 run inning and we are done. Fortunately Youk provided some entertainment in the 9th by almost starting a brawl. Then Manny misses a home run by three inches and we get the momentum we need for the next game. Tough loss but it made this series interesting again.
Scary Moment: Mike Lowell getting hit in the wrist and being pulled out of the game. Ends up being fine and shows how important he is and why it was so scary. But that's the next post.
Not scary moment: Drew strains his hamstring. Nothing bad but I just can't like this guy, so very indifferent to this. He can not hit in the American League (.222 avg, 35 hits, 31 strike outs and only 17 RBI's behind Papi and Manny.... one word terrible.) Compared to Lowell this guy is a bum (.337, 64 hits, 15 strikeouts and 45 RBI's.... no wonder he comes out to "Ironman".)
Long enough. I will post about last night's game before I go to work.
